Wise on Weather!

About the Book

As a mother of four, the number one rule in Vicki Stracesky’s family is “Safety First!” Concerned with the growing number of preventable accidents involving children and inspired by her own family, she wrote “Wise on Weather!” to both entertain and educate children on seasonal safety. Her passion for weather came from years at Fox 8 Studios directing behind the scenes. Vicki’s book was illustrated by famed Meteorologist Dick Goddard, who had been a treasured friend and mentor to Vicki. “Wise on Weather!” is like getting three books in one: a poem, seasonal safety guide and definitions to 100 weather words – both educational and entertaining. This fun and informative book will hold children’s interests for years to come, fostering great learning and enjoyable family time.

Other Contributor Bio – Dick Goddard

For decades, Dick Goddard was the chief meteorologist at Fox 8 in Cleveland, Ohio. In fact, he currently holds the Guinness World Record for the longest career as a weather forecaster. He began his weather career with the United States Air Force in 1951. A decade later, he began his television weather career after turning down a possible job opportunity at Walt Disney World Studios as a cartoonist. Goddard was one of the longest active members of the American Meteorological Society and an award-winning weathercaster, having been named the most popular weathercaster in America. In addition, he used his illustrations to bring joy to people of all ages and was a passionate advocate for helping animals. Sadly, Dick Goddard passed away on August 4, 2020.
